MEDIA & JOURNALISM
Ending spin and propaganda by rebuilding a free press that serves the public good.
Empowering a Free and Independent Media
We will bring an end to political white-washing, corporate fear-mongering, and propaganda.
It's time to end media manipulation. We stand for a free, independent media that operates with fairness, transparency, and unwavering honesty in pursuit of the truth. There will be no more government, military, or corporate influence. Instead, we will empower programme and film makers to have complete autonomy and creative license to operate within the parameters of the law. Together, we can ensure a media landscape that represents diverse perspectives and holds power accountable.
Abolishing Propaganda
The Visionary Movement is committed to granting full access to UK correspondents investigating and reporting political stories. We advocate for fair and transparent media practices, freedom of thought, freedom of speech, and freedom of expression, while upholding honesty and integrity in the pursuit of the facts. Manipulating public opinion for political gain will not be tolerated.
Reversing Decades of Government Control
We will empower independent fact-checkers, invest in media literacy education, and promote responsible journalism. Social media platforms will be held accountable for their role in disseminating fake news, with transparent content moderation and enforcement. We stand firm in protecting the truth, ensuring that our society is well-informed, and defending the foundations of a civil society from the corrosive effects of government and corporate misinformation.
A Tough Stance on Fake News
We will not tolerate the spread of fake news. We will implement strict measures to hold accountable those in positions of influence who intentionally create and disseminate false information. Robust legislation will impose significant penalties on offenders, deterring them from undermining public trust.
An End to Media Intrusion
We are committed to ending media intrusion driven by entertainment and financial motives. Gossip is not news, and invading individuals' private lives for sensational stories is unacceptable. News should be a reliable, honest source of facts, and news outlets will be held accountable for upholding these standards. Failure to do so will result in the revocation of their news licences.
