FARMING & AGRICULTURE
Building over 300 inner-city, skyscraper farms to end food poverty, pesticides, and costly and polluting imports.
Food Security for All:
The Future of British Farming
We will invest heavily in independent, organic farming practices that restore food quality and remove harmful pesticides and corporate monopolies from our food chain.
Zero Food Poverty. Zero Food Waste.
In the UK alone we produce 9.5 million tonnes of food waste every single year. We will bring an end to this senseless waste of time, money and resources, and bring an end to food poverty in Britain.
379 New Vertical Farms
Science and technology come to our rescue again, this time in the form of skyscraper farms. After assessing population density and existing infrastructure, we will build 379 skyscraper farms to meet demand. These will eliminate waste and provide abundant organic food year-round for everyone in the UK.
Reducing Food Chain Carbon Emissions
Each vertical farm would incorporate a local distribution centre to reduce the need for long haul transportation. This would remove over 300,000 HGV’s from our roads.
Safeguarding Health And The Environment
Imagine a future where our food is grown organically in innovative farms, free from harmful chemicals. By eliminating the need for pesticides and vaccines, we prioritise the well-being of our communities and protect the natural world. This means healthier individuals and a cleaner environment for generations to come. Our soil will recover, we will use less water, and the insect and bird species we have brought to the brink of extinction will be able to rebound.
Skyscraper farms would operate at optimum levels around the clock to ensure food is only produced to meet demand, eliminating food waste overnight.
DID YOU KNOW?
In 2024, adverse weather resulted in a £600 Million loss for UK farmers.
With controlled environments, our crops are shielded from extreme weather events and the damaging effects of acid rain. We will ensure a stable food supply and reduce the risk of crop loss, promoting food security and sustainability.
A Job For Life
Britain’s farmers will not be left out in the cold. They will be granted life-long tax-exemption for services rendered, and be offered free training to support their transition into Building-Integrated Agriculture.
Sustainable Solutions For A Growing Population
We have the power to revolutionise food production, transportation, and waste management, reducing costs by up to 90%.
With a 5.9% increase in the UK population over the last ten years,, we must address the alarming food waste crisis and the carbon emissions from excessive food transport.
By promoting local sourcing, community gardens, and sustainable farming practices, we can create a resilient food system that prioritises environmental stewardship and economic growth. We will also be able to produce food items that need warmer climates to grow, vastly reducing the need to import while opening up opportunities for local export.
Fully Self-Sufficient
Thanks to the latest in A.I. technology, Visionary inner-city farms would be powered using a number of renewable energy sources, but would also employ a self-powering electro-magnetic turbine. This means that they would remain self-sufficient if other sources of energy were unavailable.
Our plan will cut Co2 emissions, reduce traffic congestion, and save billions lost in healthcare and road repairs.
Ending Food Monopolies
We will implement robust antitrust measures to dismantle monopolistic practices within the UK's food industry.
This includes enforcing the Competition Act 1998 to prevent anti-competitive agreements and abuse of dominant positions, thereby promoting fair competition and protecting small-scale producers. Additionally, we will enhance the Agricultural Bill to ensure fair trading practices and transparency in the food supply chain.
Rescuing The British People From Manufactured Food Scarcity
We will invest in local agriculture, support community-owned food systems, and promote urban farming initiatives to ensure food sovereignty and reduce dependence on global supply chains. This approach empowers communities to control their food sources and enhances resilience against external disruptions.
Opposing Corporate Control Of The Food Supply
We will hold accountable companies responsible for environmental pollution, the use of harmful chemicals, and the undermining of public health. By enforcing strict environmental regulations and promoting transparency, we aim to prevent corporate entities from monopolising the food supply and compromising public well-being. This includes strengthening the Food Safety Act 1990 to ensure food safety and quality standards are upheld.
Organic Meat vs. Lab-Grown Food
We recognise the ethical and environmental concerns associated with both organic meat and lab-grown alternatives. While lab-grown meat may reduce animal suffering, it currently requires significant energy inputs, potentially offsetting environmental benefits. There are also valid concerns about the long-term effects of consuming lab-grown food. We will support research into sustainable and ethical meat alternatives, including plant-based options, to ensure there are no risks to health before these products are allowed to enter the UK food supply.
The Natural Food Chain
Carnivores and omnivores are a natural and healthy part of the human food chain. How that food chain is managed is the real issue.
We have to acknowledge that humans have evolved as omnivores, and meat consumption has always been integral to many cultures and a healthy, well-balanced diet.
However, we advocate for responsible and sustainable meat production practices that minimise environmental impact and promote animal welfare.
Wild vs. Farmed
Historically, wild boar, sheep, and cattle roamed freely, but domestication has led to the current population of farmed livestock. We will promote regenerative agriculture practices that mimic natural ecosystems, allowing livestock to contribute to soil health and biodiversity.
Planet-Friendly Methods Of Livestock Farming
We will encourage regenerative agriculture practices that focus on soil health, biodiversity, and carbon sequestration. This includes rotational grazing, agroforestry, and integrating livestock into crop production systems to create symbiotic relationships that benefit the environment.
By implementing these policies, we aim to create a sustainable, ethical, and resilient food system that serves the needs of the British people and the planet.
Unmasking The Deception
For decades, multinational corporations profiting from harmful chemical pesticides and processed foods have perpetuated the narrative that livestock cannot thrive in the wild due to rampant diseases posing health risks. However, evidence suggests that certain pesticides are associated with increased cancer risk and diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's.
These entities have contributed to environmental degradation and public health issues, using fear to advance their agendas.
To safeguard our food supply, we will empower specialised units to monitor and protect against such malicious activities. Air, water, and soil quality will be rigorously assessed, and any individual or organisation found polluting these essential resources through their business practices will face the most severe legal consequences.
Recent reforms have introduced unlimited financial penalties for environmental offences, ensuring that polluters are held accountable. We will extend those penalties to include Crimes Against the State. Additionally, under the Water (Special Measures) Bill, executives obstructing environmental investigations could face up to two years in prison.
These measures underscore our commitment to protecting public health and preserving the integrity of our environment.
